Overview of artificial intelligence-based applications in radiotherapy: recommendations for implementation and quality assurance
The radiotherapy (RT) workflow is a complex process consisting of several time-consuming steps that have an impact on treatment quality and hence patient outcome. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been proposed as a tool to increase quality, standardisation and acceleration of these steps leading to a more safe and accurate radiation administration by automation and optimization of workflows [1–3]. Especially with the introduction of adaptive radiotherapy (ART), a streamlined workflow is mandatory...

Leptin Promoted IL-17 Production from ILC2s in Allergic Rhinitis
Background. Interleukin-17 plays important roles in allergic diseases. Several studies proved that leptin promoted Th17 immune responses by inducing RORγt transcription. ILC2 is an important member of the early stage of immune response. Therefore, we aimed to explore the effect of leptin on the IL-17 production by ILC2 in AR in this study. Methods. Fifteen AR patients and fifteen healthy controls were enrolled. Serum leptin levels were measured, and their correlation with the frequency of IL-17+...

Single-fraction HDR brachytherapy as monotherapy in low and intermediate risk prostate cancer: outcomes from two clinical trials with and without an MRI-guided boost
Multi-fraction high dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR) as monotherapy is a safe and effective treatment option for men with prostate cancer [1,2]. The reported low alpha/beta ratio of prostate cancer, as well as the logistic challenges of delivering multi-fraction HDR brachytherapy, has prompted several investigators to explore single-fraction regimens. Early reports of clinical outcomes after a single dose of 19 Gy seemed to support this notion, with high biochemical control rates being reported [3,4].
