Neuropilin-2 promotes growth and progression of papillary thyroid cancer cells
Neuropilin-2 (NRP2) is a coreceptor of vascular endothelial growth factor-C/D (VEGF-C/D) and plays the important role in the development of lymphatic endothelial cells, as well as neuronal development. NRP2 is known to affect aggressiveness by increasing expression in various human cancers, but the role of NRP2 in thyroid cancer is not fully understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the NRP2 expression and its role in regulating the tumor aggressiveness in the papillary thyroid carcinoma...

Retrospective evaluation of secondary effects of hearing aids for tinnitus therapy in patients with hearing loss
Acoustic therapies including hearing aids and tinnitus control instruments are widely used in Japan but without high levels of evidence. An anatomical study of the anterior wall of the hypopharyngeal and the cervical esophageal junction
The upper esophageal sphincter plays a significant role by forming a physical barrier at the junction of the hypopharynx and the cervical esophagus. As few studies have focused on the ventral aspect of this junction, the contribution of the anterior wall of the cervical esophagus to upper esophageal sphincter function remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to examine the muscle fibers’ arrangement at the junction, especially of those forming its anterior wall.
