Efficacy of an external volume expansion device and autologous fat grafting for breast reconstruction following breast conserving surgery & total mastectomy: small improvements in quality of life found in a prospective cohort study.
Although autologous fat grafting (AFG) for breast reconstruction is feasible, the best methods have yet to be established. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of fat grafting using an external expansion device for complete breast reconstruction post breast cancer surgery hypothesising it would improve quality of life.

Evaluation of trainee performance in microsurgical procedures
Acquisition of microsurgical expertise is integral to plastic surgical training. The United Kingdom Certificate of Completion of Training requires surgeons to perform 27 free tissue transfers and 35 microvascular anastomoses during their training; a goal challenging to trainees and trainers alike given reduced training hours, complexity of cases, and consequences of flap failure.

Brow height asymmetry before and after eyelid ptosis surgery
Publication date: Available online 8 August 2019Source: Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic SurgeryAuthor(s): Justin N. Karlin, Daniel B. RootmanAbstractBackgroundIn the setting of upper eyelid ptosis, asymmetric eyebrow position may be observed, and may contribute to overall facial asymmetry. In this study, the authors aim to elucidate the prevalence and predictors of brow height asymmetry in the setting of ptosis, and to determine the effect of eyelid surgery on brow height asymmetry,...
