Abstract Background Stevens‐Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and overlap SJS/TEN are life‐threatening diseases that are most frequently caused by drugs. Much debate remains about the role of systemic corticosteroids (SCs) in their treatment. Intralesional steroid treatment for the intermediate stage of retronychia: a pilot study
Abstract Introduction Retronychia describes the proximal ingrowing of the nail plate. In the early stage, topical steroids are the gold standard therapy, while in the late stage surgical treatment is mandatory. We identified an intermediate severity stage of retronychia, where the topical treatment alone is ineffective and surgery is avoidable. Intralesional steroids turn the best treatment in these patients. Materials and Method A pilot study consisting of a 3‐month treatment period and...

Use of dupilumab in a patient with atopic dermatitis, severe asthma, and HIV infection
Abstract Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody against interleukin 4 (IL‐4) receptor α that blocks signaling from IL‐4 and IL‐13, essential mediators of T helper 2 (Th2) pathway. To date, all clinical trials investigating the use of dupilumab excluded patients with human immunodeficiency virus. Herein, we describe the safe and successful use of dupilumab in a patient with atopic dermatitis, severe therapy resistant asthma, and HIV infection. This article is protected by copyright.
